Donate to the ACNS Strategic Fund

Since 1946, the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS) has been dedicated to fulfilling its mission "to serve patients and society by empowering members to advance the science, practice and profession of clinical neurophysiology." ACNS and its dedicated members seek to accomplish this mission through a number of programs which prioritize education in the field of clinical neurophysiology, support of research superior technology and treatment options, and collaboration with clinical neurophysiologists worldwide to advance the field and ultimately serve patients and a global society.

ACNS has a vision, but cannot realize that vision without you!

A number of projects supporting the ACNS mission require significant funding, and we are asking for your help so that we may continue to offer outstanding education, begin funding research grants, and effective collaboration efforts.

The ACNS Council has established the ACNS Strategic Fund that will be used at the discretion of Council to support the Society’s mission, activities and programs.

Opportunities and Options for Giving

Members, Emeritus members, patients and family members, pharmaceutical or device companies, foundations, and the general public are encouraged to donate to ACNS at any time, in any amount.

For members, the opportunity is available annually when you pay dues and renew your membership. In addition, members and non-members alike are welcome to donate when registering to attend ACNS programs like the Annual Meeting & Courses or Fall Courses. Of course, donations are also accepted anytime on the ACNS website.

Finally, as has been common practice for the past several years, speakers at ACNS meetings and courses will be offered the opportunity to donate their speaking honoraria back to ACNS*.

Donations may be directed to one of four separate funds:

  1. Strategic Fund – an unrestricted fund, wholly owned and controlled by ACNS. Every dollar stays with ACNS and may be used at the discretion of the ACNS Council to support the ACNS mission, activities and programs. Donations that are not otherwise directed to one of the funds listed below are automatically directed to the umbrella Strategic Fund to be used where greatest need exists in working toward the ACNS mission.

  2. Educational Fund – an unrestricted fund, controlled by the ACNS Council that will provide travel fellowships to ACNS meetings and courses. Donors to this fund and recipients of the travel funds will be introduced to one another in advance of the Annual Meeting and given the opportunity to meet onsite, with the goal of fostering mentorship relationships and greater networking among members.

  3. Research Fund – an unrestricted fund, controlled by the ACNS Council that will provide funding to investigators, consortia and projects, as designated by the ACNS Clinical Research Committee.

  4. International Fund – an unrestricted fund, controlled by the ACNS Council that will provide funding for the International Speaker Exchange Program. Launched in 2015, the program established a process and source of funding by which ACNS and its international counterparts may collaborate on jointly-planned symposia and educational content, including travel support for international speakers to attend and contribute to ACNS meetings as well as for senior ACNS members to travel to overseas meetings and take part in the program on behalf of ACNS.
