Principles of Clinical Neurophysiology

The Principles of Clinical Neurophysiology Courses (PCNP) is designed to deliver basic and intermediate level content as part of the of the ACNS Educational Continuum. ACNS's educational activities are directed to clinical neurophysiologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, trainees in these disciplines, technologists and other physicians and researchers who utilize clinical neurophysiologic techniques and knowledge in the diagnosis and management of patients with disorders of the peripheral and central nervous system. Likewise, the courses can serve as a great refresher for those preparing for board exams.

The PCNP Courses will be delivered in a blended format, on-demand lectures with live-streamed Faculty Forums, designed to enhance flexibility and engagement. 

PCNP Course Catalog

Courses launch on September 14, 2026 and will be available to watch on-demand through March 15, 2027. Two (2) live Faculty Forums are scheduled per course, designed to provide opportunities to engage directly with course faculty.

Choose from five (5) comprehensive courses:

  • Electromyography and Nerve Conduction Studies (EMG / NCS)
  • Intensive Care Unit EEG Monitoring (ICU EEG)
  • Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (NIOM)
  • Sleep
  • Stereo-Electroencephalography (Stereo EEG)

Complete preliminary programs for each course will be available July 2026.

Each Course Includes:
  • Six (6) months of course access
  • Interactive formats including discussion boards, case discussions and polling questions
  • Supplemental educational materials
  • Two (2) interactive live virtual sessions with faculty (Faculty Forums), designed to provide opportunities to discuss cases, ask questions, and engage directly with faculty.
