The ACNS Advocacy Committee has published the May 2026 Policy Update. Covered in this month's update:
ACNS Submits Statement Supporting Physician Payment Reform
ACNS submitted a statement for the record for the House Energy & Commerce Health Subcommittee hearing on May 20 focused on examining Medicare physician payment, value-based care through MIPS and APMs and opportunities for payment reform, supporting the committee’s bipartisan focus.
House Committee Considers Budget Neutrality Legislation
On May 21, the House Ways and Means Committee marked up and adopted at the committee level H.R. 8163, the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act. This bipartisan legislation would raise the existing $20 million budget neutrality trigger to $54.3 million, and starting in 2032, would require the budget neutrality threshold to be increased by the cumulative MEI every 5 years. We will continue to update ACNS members as the bill moves through the legislative process.
