The ACNS Advocacy Committee has published the June 2025 Policy Update. Covered in this month's update:
Reconciliation Bill Moves to the Senate
On May 22, the House passed its version of the reconciliation package, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R.1) by a vote of 215-214. This legislation advances the President’s agenda, including tax cuts, funding for immigration enforcement and national security, and raising the debt ceiling. However, it cuts Medicaid substantially and makes changes to the Affordable Care Act exchanges – taken together these polices would result in 10.6 billion Americans losing health care coverage during the 10-year budget window.
ACNS Submits Comments on Inpatient Proposed Payment Rule
ACNS joined with the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC), American Epilepsy Society (AES) and the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) to submit comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on the Fiscal Year 2026 Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) proposed rule.
